Located deep in Pengerang, Yard & Co. is a picturesque getaway that rewards the long drive with unbeatable, sweeping views of the South China Sea. The outdoor ambiance is phenomenal, providing a cooling ocean breeze that feels world away from central JB. However, expect to pay for the privilege. A standard meal of one main and a drink easily exceeds RM50 per person, leading many to feel they are paying a 50% premium purely for the view. Service is also heavily criticized as sluggish and below average.

The food is competent but rarely mind-blowing. The Smoked Duck Aglio Olio 烟熏鸭肉蒜香意面 is well-emulsified but lacks an aggressive garlic punch. The Grilled Chicken Rigatoni 烤鸡肉通心粉 hits the spot with a nicely balanced tomato sauce and smoky chicken. Steer clear of the Laksa Pasta 叻沙意面 if you dislike the earthy funk of buah keluak, which dominates the sambal profile. The Milk Mochi 牛奶麻薯 is a fun, hands-on dessert, but messy to eat and could use heavily roasted peanuts for better flavor.

Drinks and sweets fare slightly better. The Grapefruit Espresso 西柚浓缩咖啡 is expertly balanced, avoiding harsh acidity, and the Lychee Oolong 荔枝乌龙茶 is thoroughly refreshing in the heat. The Hawthorn and Pistachio Cake 山楂开心果蛋糕 offers a unique, moderately sweet end to the meal. There is no dedicated parking lot, but the remote location means you can easily park along the roadside. It’s worth the trek for the photos, but temper your culinary expectations.
