Shuu Cafe

★ 4.1

A deeply aesthetic, Korean-meets-French patisserie in Taman Abad famed for its flawless choux and canelés. Prices are high and the space can feel overrun by influencers, but the pastry quality holds up to the hype.

The Insider Review

Shuu Cafe banks hard on cottage-core aesthetics—think exposed brick, wooden furniture, and vintage styling. It feels like a European countryside home dropped into Taman Abad. The visual appeal draws heavy influencer crowds, resulting in non-stop photoshoots that can mildly annoy those just looking to eat. Despite the hype, you’ll likely wait up to 30 minutes for a table on weekends, and surprisingly, there is no Wi-Fi.

The baked goods are the main event. The Vanilla Choux 香草泡芙 and Guava Calamansi Choux 番石榴酸柑泡芙 boast perfectly crisp craquelin shells and well-balanced, light cream fillings. The Canelés 可露丽 hit the ideal textural contrast—deeply caramelized, crunchy exteriors giving way to custardy centers. If you want something savory, the Egg Shakshouka 鸡蛋北非蛋 (RM26) provides solid, flavorful comfort, though the Shüü’s Daily Ritual 英式大早餐 (RM33) is dismissed as entirely average.

Drinks like the Apple Passion Jasmine 苹果百香果茉莉茶 (RM15) are refreshing but steep in price. Diners repeatedly call the pricing "kayangan" (sky-high). Tucked in a residential area, parking is tight. Prepare to squeeze your car along narrow curbs. Despite the high costs and lack of parking, the stellar service and flawless pastries make it worth the trip.
