Re Patisserie

★ 4.6

A minimalist dessert haven in Taman Melodies known for visually stunning, high-end pastries. While the aesthetic environment and polite service—plus a resident cat—charm visitors, the steep, Singapore-level pricing and extremely limited seating make it a one-time visit for many.

The Insider Review

Re Patisserie operates out of a highly aesthetic but frustratingly cramped two-story space in Taman Melodies. Securing a seat is a gamble; the ground floor fits only about eight tables, and management often refuses to open the second floor during peak hours, forcing long waits. The atmosphere is undeniably serene and beautifully decorated—complete with accessible power plugs and a well-behaved resident cat—but the premium experience comes at a steep, unapologetic cost.

The pastries are gorgeous but strictly priced for tourists. Tarts start at RM25, a basic croissant hits RM9, and the Signature Mille Feuille 招牌千层酥 commands top dollar. The Red Bean Shio Pan 红豆盐卷 is a massive hit—soft, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. For those avoiding cloying sweetness, the Mandarin Orange and Grapefruit Tart 柑橘柚子挞 offers a perfectly balanced, tart bite. However, the Tiramisu 提拉米苏 fails on texture, arriving overly liquid with a shocking RM30 price tag.

The beverage menu holds its own, particularly the Matcha Latte 抹茶拿铁 and the adventurous Cyberpunk Choco 赛博朋克巧克力 featuring a unique sour tinge. Note that their house coffee beans carry a distinct acidic, sour profile which may not suit traditional palates. With an average spend of RM150 for a quick tea break, it is a beautiful, tasty spot that demands a high budget.
