A refined, modern-Chinese dessert teahouse on Jalan Dhoby blending heritage charm with contemporary sweets. Excellent pistachio-infused treats and a serene second-floor teahouse make it a must-visit, though prices match Singapore levels.

The Insider Review

Mollie Makes brings a polished, oriental-chic aesthetic to the heritage-rich Jalan Dhoby. The ground floor is cramped, so bypass it immediately and head upstairs. The second level reveals a stunning, zen teahouse environment with natural light, low tables, and a quiet atmosphere perfectly suited for a slow afternoon. Prices are steep—expect to pay Singapore rates for beverages—but the quality of ingredients justifies the premium.

The menu is an inventive reimagining of traditional Chinese tong sui. The Pistachio Beancurd 开心果豆花 is the undisputed star: silky smooth tofu topped with thick, nutty pistachio paste, savory cheese foam, and a handmade mochi. The Taro Paste Beancurd 芋泥豆花 is equally indulgent. Another crowd favorite is the Pistachio Mochi Tart 开心果麻薯挞, served warm so the mochi cascades out when cut. The sweetness levels across all desserts are highly restrained, catering perfectly to modern, health-conscious palates.

Drinks are deeply complex. Skip standard teas and order the Fresh Longan Ice Blended Duck Shit Oolong Lemon Tea 鸭屎香柠檬龙眼冰沙. The name is aggressive, but the drink is a masterclass in balance—floral, citrusy, and packed with osmanthus jelly and longan chunks. Parking on Jalan Dhoby is practically non-existent, so grab a spot in a nearby paid lot and walk over to enjoy the peace inside.
